Cooked beef, pickles and American cheese are rolled into four tortillas and crisped in the air fryer. Cook the beef fully before filling the wraps.
Pickle liquid wets the wrapper and can leak onto the basket. Pat slices dry before assembly.
Ingredients and measurements
- 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch each)
- 1 pound ground beef, uncooked
- 4 slices of American-style cheese
- 16 pickle slices, drained
- 1 tablespoon of ketchup
- 1 tablespoon of mayo
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- ½ teaspoon of salt
Preparation and cooking
- Stage 1
Brown beef with garlic powder, salt and pepper to 160°F, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain excess fat.
- Stage 2
Warm tortillas until pliable. Divide ketchup, mayonnaise, drained pickles, cheese and hot beef among four tortillas, leaving borders. Fold in sides and roll.
- Stage 3
Brush with melted butter. Air-fry seam-side down at 380°F for about five minutes, checking and continuing until crisp and hot through. Use an uncrowded layer.
- Stage 4
Rest briefly before slicing. Serve extra filling separately if a tortilla cannot close around its portion.
It crisps the wrap and melts cheese; it is not a substitute for cooking raw beef inside a tightly rolled tortilla.
Why drain pickles?
Refrigerate perishable leftovers promptly in shallow containers at 40°F or below, within two hours or one hour above 90°F. Reheat cooked leftovers to 165°F; keep cold dishes chilled.
