Turkey Cranberry Crescent Ring with Gruyere (Print-Friendly Version)

Cooked turkey, cranberry sauce and cheese fill a crescent-dough ring. Two tubes of dough provide room to enclose the filling; this measured adaptation replaces the uncertain dough quantity in the earlier draft.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

01 - Two 8-ounce tubes crescent dough
02 - 4 ounces chive-and-onion cream cheese; 1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
03 - 3 teaspoons chopped rosemary and thyme, divided equally
04 - 2 cups grated Gruyere, divided equally
05 - 1 pound cooked sliced turkey
06 - 14 ounces whole-berry cranberry sauce, half for filling and half for serving
07 - 2 tablespoons melted butter; 1/2 teaspoon each poppy seeds and garlic powder; 1/4 teaspoon salt

# How to Make It:

01 - Heat oven to 375°F. On parchment, overlap triangle bases around a 4–5-inch opening, points facing out.
02 - Mix cream cheese, mustard and half the herbs. Spread around the joined bases; add half the cheese, turkey, half the cranberry sauce and remaining cheese.
03 - Fold points over filling and tuck underneath. Brush with butter mixed with seeds, garlic powder, salt and remaining herbs.
04 - Bake about 22–30 minutes until seams are cooked and filling reaches 165°F. Cover browned areas loosely if needed. Rest five minutes; serve with reserved cranberry sauce.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - The source permits two tubes for easier appetizer handling, and this adaptation selects that option explicitly. Open both before building the ring so the overlap can be distributed evenly. Do not add more turkey just because the outer circle looks large; filling depth determines whether the pastry can close.
02 - Use already cooked turkey, not raw strips. Separate thick folded slices and spread them evenly around the circle so one section does not become a mound. Keep the filling away from the very tips of the triangles, which need a clean surface to tuck beneath the base.
03 - Inspect an inner pastry seam as well as the exposed outside. A dark top can hide soft dough beneath a wet filling. Place the thermometer in the thickest filling section without touching the tray. If the top is ready first, protect it loosely and continue until the center is hot enough.
04 - Rest the ring on its tray before moving or cutting it. Use a broad spatula to support a portion, especially near a seam. Keep the reserved cranberry sauce separate from the bowl used while assembling so guests receive a clean condiment. Slice only what is needed at the table.
